We spent 3 nights on a kayaking expedition in the Gulf Islands guided by Evan. Blue Dog provided an exceptional experience, showing us the best of the islands while teaching us how to do undertake a safe kayaking trip. Evan was very knowledgeable and ensured we had an experience that stretched us, but not to the point we felt unsafe. I would highly recommend to anyone who is looking for some adventure but is new to kayaking.

I took the Paddle Canada Level 1 Sea Kayaking skills course through Blue Dog Kayaking in July. It was a great value and I really recommend taking the course for anyone new to Sea Kayaking or looking to refresh their skills. The information and skills demonstrated was very valuable. Also our guide and instructor for the course (Carmen) was awesome. She was very good at explaining the concepts and demonstrating the necessary skills. She was patient, provided valuable feedback and maintained a very positive attitude which made the whole experience fun. Blue Dog provided top brand kayaks NDK/SKUK kayaks for use during the course. I will be taking the Level 2 with Blue Dog soon

I really enjoyed the navigation course I took both on and off the water, my son is going on the training trip to Quadra and I just booked a casual paddle for myself and 11 of my colleagues for an afternoon. All interactions we have had with Blue Dog Kayaking have been professional and super friendly, all staff we have met and dealt with obviously have a passion for the sport and for seeing people do it safely, with the right equipment in the right place at the right time. Update: My son had a fabulous time at his course; the instructors helped him achieve a higher level of competence without pushing him beyond his limits.

We had a great time on the half day kayaking tour with our wonderful guide Carmen today. Saw lots of wildlife and the seals were super cute! It’s a very nice experience for someone who wants to try kayaking.

Recently completed a half day kayaking trip. The scenery was beautiful, but we were not very impressed with the guide. Our group became quite separated during a crossing even though the guide specifically told us that she wanted us to remain in a tight formation. Additionally, I felt unstable within the kayak I was given and when I asked about this I was told it was due to bad technique (quite possible) and to use my core more. I assumed the guide was correct, but as the trip went on I came to the conclusion that this was not true and I think I was placed into an ill-fitting kayak and I would have enjoyed the trip more if I had switched. Additionally, my wife needed a bit of instruction and when I hinted for my guide to give her some tips none were forthcoming.
