My husband and I did the Meares Island big tree tour. Our group was a small group of 4 plus our tour guide, Brynn. They provide you with all of the gear you need, including coats and pants, and appropriate shoes if you donât have them. They also provide you with dry bags for your things and cases for your phones. We absolutely loved this experience. Brynn was easy going, knowledgeable, and fun. We shared lots of laughs and saw some marine animals and learned a lot about the indigenous culture and heritage on the island, so much about the native trees, and different native plants. The kayaking itself was so much fun and Brynn helped us navigate through the harbour with the sea planes and boats coming and going. Would definitely recommend Tofino Sea Kayaking!

Fully recommend going for a paddle with Tofino Sea Kayaking. We went on the Meares Island Big Tree Trail, about 4.5hrs. it was the perfect balance of paddle time and rainforest time.
We had Neal as our guide. He was extraordinarily knowledgeable - between the four of us on the tour we had lots of questions which he never failed to answer - incredibly impressed with his knowledge. He had a very good approach to his coaching/guidance and clear communication throughout. I get the impression he'd be great with beginners just as much with people who've got a bit of experience.
If you're thinking about it, do it, you won't regret it! (... and cross your fingers you get Neal as your guide!)

I had a great wonderful first sea Kayaking experience , they made sure I was comfortable in the gear, and offered to help even while we were out in the ocean . They offer life jackets, phone safe pouch , and glass holder
TMI I have major sea sickness, and water phobia but they made me feel comfortable and I made out of the water safe .

Neil led my kayak trip this week. He was clear in his explanation of what was expected of us, knowledgeable about kayaking, the local area, wildlife, the rainforest, indigenous people, land and words. History of the area. It was an education!
We felt safe and encouraged by him. I cannot say enough great things about this once in a lifetime experience at Meares island.

2.5hr tour, double kayak : Bryn and Andy were a fun crew to be around. They gave us all the gear and prep needed which made for a wonderful trip through the little islands, kelp forest, and rapids.

Despite a cool rainy day, we had an excellent experience with Tofino Sea Kayaking. Our family of 5 loved seeing starfish, sea otters, seals, and crabs on the 2.5 hr trip around the harbor. Our guide (Andy) was very knowledgeable and enjoyable to kayak with. I highly recommend this experience, especially through this outfitter!

Did a 4 hr trip out on a sea kayak today. Lovely spot and an easy paddle around a few islands off Tofino. 3 of us and a guide meant plenty of time to take in the views, ask questions and enjoy the wildlife. Our guide, Laurence was very knowledgeable about the local area and history. Also gave us a thorough walk through of the gear and safety procedures before setting off. Well worth it.
