A disappointing 2 nights stay at Plank cottage .
Based on the website information and photos, a group of 4, we rented cottage#11. Upon checkin, we found the pictures /information on the website were deceiving. Cottage is small, not enough room for 4 people to move in living room/kitchen. The 2 bedrooms are the size of double matress. No room to walk around the the bed. To get in/out of bed, one individual had to climb over the other individual. Plus bedrooms have no doors but a cheap polyester curtain as privacy. The toilet is small/
congested with a medium sink touching our leg when in use. No privacy as few window blinds were broken. 1st night, the toilet was not flushing well. It got fixed next day by the owner. Cottage trip is meant for relaxation, we didn't find it here.

I came here with my daughter for my Birthday. We spent 2 days fishing the lake and had a great time. Some bass, some crappie lots of blue gill. Landed a nice pike as well. Excellent value for the experienced fisherman. The lake has massive weed beds that can be a bit tedious but over all provided great fishing opportunities. The cabin was perfect. Simple but comfortable. Bring your own linens, blankets and pillows. The beds were comfortable. About 50feet to the dock and off you go.
Boat rentals offered on site with valid pleasure craft and fishing licenses if fishing. The ministry is out on the lake. They stopped by for a chat then left. I'm legit lol.
Great place overall, I'll be back .

We have been coming to plank road cottages for 7 years and I have to say the owners Carla and angus are great hosts. It’s a nice drive not too long from where we live in Niagara, great little spot to get away for a few days. Fishing is great from the docks or even the public dock but if your like us and don’t have a boat - you can rent a fishing boat or a pontoon. This has become my home away from home. It’s perfect ! Thank you to the owners for always making all guest feel like family and always being so friendly. Check this place out !! Oh and the sunsets and the sunrises are definitely beautiful

Cute and compact family run cottages. Carla and Angus are very friendly and helpful hosts. They keep the guest's feeling like part of the family and make their rounds daily to check up on you. We've rented the past 4 years and have already booked summer 2024. Looking forward to the relaxing lake life again. If you can manage going mid-week, they have a good deal. Stay for 4 nights but pay for 3.

This cabin was truly exceptional. We had a fantastic stay, filled with memorable moments and hearty laughter. Carla and Angus couldn't have been more hospitable and friendly. With stunning views and a family-friendly atmosphere, the area was a joy to explore. The cabins were immaculate and well-stocked, offering all the essentials we required. The well-maintained lawn and easily accessible fireplaces added to the convenience. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hidden treasure to loved ones and friends.

Carla and Angus thank you for being such gracious host. The ambience of this place is 2nd to none. Waking up to such beautiful sunrise is totally amazing. This is my 3rd year spending quality time with family and friends. Be it quiet moments or round the campfire it's the perfect getaway. Love it. Thank you Carla and Angus. Cristina and I as well as our puppy Elvis felt very welcome. The location is beautiful, Karla and Angus are great hosts and willing to assist when asked.
It brought back many memories of cabins and fishing in the past. We did a mid week special with a fishing boat and enjoyed the lake as well.
This is a wonderful and affordable fishing camp and has what you need. If you're expecting 5 star accommodations then stay in the big city, if your looking to get back to nature then this is the place. Sunrise is great and sunset is amazing.
We will be back to enjoy again.

We had such a good experience we came back! Angus was as pleasant as ever. Helpful in explaining all my questions about fishing and renting his boats.
This is a very quiet area and the guests renting the cabins were all respectful in my time there. Oh, the washrooms are very clean too!
Don't forget to give his doggy pets when you check in
