very beginner friendly, no kayaking experience needed.
Here are a couple of things to keep in mind if you're planning on booking:
0: if I were to redo this, I'd probably take a paddle board, and let myself drift in the current, kayaking isn't really necessary.
1: always reserve your spot beforehand on the phone.
2: This is the equivalent of kayaking down the "lazy river" ride at the water park, so there are absolutely no thrills, no tiny rapids, nothing just a very....very calm riverof varying depths.
3. If you don't watch where you're going, you'll run aground. No biggie, but don't expect you'll do the whole ride without having to step in water.
4. The major con I think is because this river runs down a major road, you always hear the cars and the trucks go by. If you're planning on feeling isolated and infused in nature, this is not it.
5: it's relaxing nonetheless

Had an amazing experience. It rained kind of hard at the end of our route, but that's out of anyone's control. Great course for beginners!

Great way to spend a day, especially if the weather is good. The 12km trail took us 4 hours by kayak and canoe with little breaks here and there. Would be nice to pack a lunch and have a picnic by the side of the river

Great time with my boys, nieces and brother. Bring water and small snacks, many spots to stop as you go down for a quick relax moment. Good for dogs and younger kids!

Beautiful float/paddle on the Rouge river. Water is shallow, clear and surprisingly warm.

Great place - ridiculous price. We brought our own kayaks and they charged us 70$ for the people just for a 13 KM ride.
If you’re rending their canoes, paddle boards or kayaks I can understand and 100$ for the ride and canoe is fair..
However If you have your own kayak, paddleboard & canoes and are bringing them to use, its way cheaper (and even free) to park at the place you want to descend down from and have a second car at the bottom waiting at the bottom…
70$ for 13km ride in a hot bus? Never again… we were told on the phone 15$ pèr person to ride the bus and were charged an outrageous amount- we mentioned coming from far so they took advantage of us and were dishonest about the price on the phone.
bring two cars it’s free and park elsewhere if you bring your own equipment
Adding onto my review -We saw plenty of free and paid parking
you can’t justify making people pay 70$ for a 10 min ride up the road. I also never asked you if you had people “beg you for staying open”
so why are you adding that as a comment when it’s irrelevant to my experience?
Pretty unprofessional.
