Our group of 8 signed up for the “short” run to celebrate our friends Birthday in a tranquil and peaceful way.
The owners and staff of Otter Be Here were incredibly kind, informative and organized from start to finish. You weren’t left with any unanswered questions or intimidated by the activity whatsoever.
I feel the short run would suit most kayakers hoping to just slow down and tune into nature. The pace you go is somewhat dictated by the current that day and our session was set to last 2.5 hours. However, we went well over that timeframe with frequent stops to chat with one another. It was magical and allowed us to connect with each person as we slowly made our way down the Otter River. I must say it was exactly the kind of escape from the city I had been craving.
It doesn’t matter if you’ve never kayaked before as this route is great for beginners and well seasoned paddlers alike. There’s no reason to be nervous with this activity as they provide life jackets and you have the opportunity to take a breather along the riverbanks whenever you feel you need to. You can go as fast or as slow as you like.
They were kind enough to share their restaurant recommendations nearby and the suggestions were top notch ! Lunch in Port Burwell afterwards was surely a great way to end a peaceful day on the river.

These are really great people who will go the extra mile to make sure that your trip is excellent. We needed one kayak for our group and they even accommodated this request.
The Otter Creek is a really fun to paddle. It meanders through forest and fields with enough flow to keep you moving but excellent for beginners too. We saw lots of wildlife including a bald eagle!

A day of complete enjoyment. Quality owners, kayaks, and experience. Such a fun day to spend with some of your favourite adventurous friends and family. You have to go out and do this.

Had an amazing kayak experience here! Good for adventurous beginners too - the views are beautiful, the river is not too deep, the current is gently helping along so you don't have to paddle too much. The hosts/owners are very friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend!

Wow!! Anyone that enjoys nature and kayaking needs to experience this adventure - so peaceful and an easy paddle so you can relax and enjoy the water the trees and the wildlife - we have been a few times and it never disappoints!!
