A great place and I definitely recommend this place! I’ve been to several rental places in Alberta, but this one got the best kayak &service. The price is also very reasonable. The water surface is quiet without a lot waves, so it’s a good place to try paddle board. The staff is also super friendly and helpful. You can chill on the public beach near the bridge if you want a short break.

I'm a bit confused if there are multiple companies on Lakeside drive where you can rent kayaks from. If this is the one where I was, I had a fantastic experience!
We rented 2 single kayaks for $9/3 hours each in the peak season! That was incredibly cheap! We discovered lots of places and beaches during those 3 hours, we had a blast!
I totally recommend it!

The team at Nelson Paddleboard and Kayak Rentals was great! We rented 2 kayaks for the day and they gave us great suggestions for routes on Kootenay Lake. The life jackets, kayaks and paddles were in good shape. The best part was heading off right from the dock at the lake. The staff were very helpful in getting us safely in and out of the water.

The advertisement info said they have a wide range of gear for beginners to advanced paddlers but when we got there they had a dismal selection of pelican plastic boards that were in very poor condition. For $25 an hour then $15 for every subsequent hour the cost is outrageous for what they offer. Go. To lake side rentals!!!

The staff were friendly and efficient, with lots of tips for any kind of paddling adventure. They made it easy to paddle for as long as we fancied and pay for only the time we used - no pressure or time restrictions. Kayaks, life jackets, paddles, and dry bags were all in excellent condition. Would definitely rent from them again!

Stumbled upon this during a walk. Decided to rent out paddleboards the next day. Staff suggested we take kayaks instead as the winds were strong in the morning. Staff was very friendly. Great location and price for all day rental. Had a wonderful day on the water and visiting a few public beaches. Would recommend.

I'm sure this place is fun. However the service is awful. We showed up at 1130am and they told us their tandem kayaks will be back at 1. Told us to come back 10 minutes to 1 and it's ours. So we came back at 1245 and told us someone showed up few minutes prior and gave the kayaks to them. Understand its first come first serve, but promising it's ours if we show up at a certain time only to turn us away yet again is bad faith IMO. Would not recommend wasting your time and taking their word if they don't have any available when you first show up. Very disappointing.
