Misty Isles Adventures - Whaletown

Went out on my second excursion with Jonas today in Desolation Sound and was again blown away by his breadth of knowledge on topics ranging from marine biology to historical geopolitics. His passion for marine life not only shows but is contagious and he shares his knowledge in an accessible way throughout the journey. I have been out on the water with a 1 year old and now also 8 and 12 year olds and the ways he engages with kids is really great - he made it quite fun for them while also challenging them with knots and small (optional) tasks on the boat.

Communicating with Amy leading up to the trip was easy and clear as well - hope to meet this lovely family someday! We will definitely be back for further adventures, increasing in # of hours and days as our kids get older. Thank you Jonas and Amy!

I can't say enough about my time on Misty Isles. The boat itself was perfect for exploring - comfortable and very safe. There was ample room to move about and every vantage point offered stunning views. The crew was incredible. Jonas is an extraordinary Captain and guide. I learned so much from him while sailing on many topics from the human history of the area, insights on the natural beings we encountered and even tips on water navigation. Jonas took us to breathtaking places with epic mountain views and calm ocean teeming with seals, sea lions and humpback whales. He was deeply respectful of the animals we saw and gave them enough space to continue living - while also getting us close enough to really see them. I would highly recommend taking any trip on this boat with this crew!

We did the Misty Isles Desolation sound trip. It was incredible; extremely relaxing, yet also adventurous, fun and educational. Captain Jonas made us feel comfortable, welcomed and confident in his skills. We really, really appreciated hearing from him about the environment, history and cultures unique to this area.
Highlight: jumping from the top of the boat into the beautiful waters of the sound.

An extremely pleasant and magical experience!... Captain Jonas shares a vast array of knowledge regarding the surrounding area, along with a comfortable focus on safety for his passengers and his trusty crew member Makawi who had some wild stories of adventure to tell. Overall good vibes full of humor, connection and excitement throughout every wave and salty wind gust. The boat itself has much character and is perfectly spacious with hang out areas to catch some shade if desired. A sincere passion, love and respect for the marine life and it's environment is felt upon this vessel making for an incredibly wholesome experience to be remembered and appreciated for a lifetime.

We booked two excursions with Misty Isles Adventures. Our experience has been phenomenal. Jonas the skipper and owner of the boat is meticulous, knowledgeable and fun. Amy who booked us in was super prompt and efficient. The tours were amazing with the most stunning scenery. We were lucky to see dolphins and whales. Kudos to Jonas for the passion and professionalism he brings to this adventure. His helpers Nadia and Mackie on both our trips were just so helpful. If you visit Cortes don't leave without experiencing the best this Island has to offer through Misty Isles. We loved every minute of each excursion.

We had an amazing day out with Jonas as he took us on a tour of Desolation Sound. The journey was a mix of local history and stunning beauty... we even saw a humpback whale breach on our way out from
Cortes Island. Jonas is an incredibly knowledgeable and enjoyable captain who knows his way around the boat and this beautiful area. An educational experience and a remarkable day out! Highly recommended.

One of the most magical experiences of our lives aboard Misty Isles! We did the Whaletown Explorer tour and our minds were blown! It is so much more than just a tour- Jonas’ love and respect for the land, waters and all of it’s creatures is apparent and there is a feeling of being in harmony with nature on the boat more then any other tour I have ever been on.
I grew up on Cortes Island and learned more about the area’s biodiversity and history than I ever did when I lived on island!
The whales must have sensed the positive energy of all on board because the whales came out and put on the show of a lifetime! With the engine off- we drifted while watching Orcas and Humpbacks breach and feed, it was truly unbelievable!! We explored emerald green bays, jumped off the boat to swim, ate delicious cookies made by Amy, and stopped at stunning Shark Spit off of Marina Island to explore the sand bar and swim in the turquoise, warm waters! Lovely guests on board and plenty of room to spread out and find sun or shade! Huge thank you to Misty Isles Jonas, Amy and Makawi for the experience of a lifetime! You guys are truly the best!
