Ed was both a phenomenal tour guide and teacher. We'd never used this style of tandem kayak before but he had us up and running efficiently in just a few minutes. The beautiful sights combined with the interesting history lesson on the area made for an unforgettable day. Seeing the curious seals up close was quite amazing as well. Highly recommended!

We did the Sailboats, Seals & Sunset tour and it was perfect. Ed is a knowledgeable and energetic guide with lots of great Halifax history and stories. Our day was a bit chilly so we got spray skirts and neoprene gloves to help stay warm and dry which was perfect. We got lucky and saw a seal and some other sea creatures while getting out of our kayaks!

It was my first kayaking experience ever and I loved it! We were lucky to have Ed as our instructor. He gave clear instructions on what to do and how to operate the kayak. The scenery was marvellous! Weâve seen 4 seals though the water was pretty high. Weâve also seen some fish jumping out of the water which was fun! What I loved most was local stories and history Ed shared with us. We didnât only enjoy the kayaking, but also learned something new for ourselves.

We decided to try sunset kayaking with Kayak Halifax on a whim after previous plans did not work out. Ed was our guide. He was absolutely wonderful! He thoroughly explained the ins and outs of kayaking before our trip. The trip itself was glorious. We were able to see seal pups and the sunset views of the harbour were spectacular. He entertained us with his exciting facts and stories. This was a definite highlight of our Halifax trip with wonderful memories.

Ed is such a peaceful fellow. It was just my friend and I. He took us to look at seals. Fall in love with the peaceful water and gave us a history of the area we were in.

Incredible experience. Ed is a worldly, kind, and calming presence who gave us a sunset tour full of history and stories. The most beautiful night on the water, saw seals and amazing houses and yachts.
When we had an emergency the night before, ed was kind enough to rebook us for the sunset tour and I absolutely recommend. A lovely way to see Halifax, and he truly embodies the kind and happy spirit of the people here. A must do activity if you are visiting this lovely city.
Great for beginners and experienced kayakers alike. My second time on his tours and I absolutely recommend. Thanks again Ed!

My girls and I had such an amazing experience with Ed!! Thank you for the stories and the care (especially your assistance for that girl that couldnât navigate and had to be attached to your boat haha!!).
We had the chance to see the celeb seals of Halifax: Taylor Swift, Sandy and Fred and they were soooooo cuteee. Also, as expected, the sunset was so prettyy and it was definitely a healing trip for me!!!
