Overall a nice experience with the company and the product. First shakedown paddle today of my Mercury in solo configuration on the Bayfield river. Felt stable and tracked well in wind and current. Rudder system takes a bit of getting used too. Had to beach and adjust tension. Bit tricky knowing when it’s straight, so presume it’s just a matter. of learning when it feels right. Any tips on adjustments would be appreciated. Must admit assembly and disassembly a bit tricky. At 71 my fingers are not quite as strong as they used to be. Need to watch the videos again and practice. Next expedition will be with my partner in a tandem set up.

Great Escape Kayaks was super responsive and helpful through our entire purchasing experience. I was concerned about whether the kayak would fit in my car, and they sent me a picture of the kayak fitting in a comparable vehicle. A couple of days after I made a purchase, they had an accessories sale, and extended the sale to me as well. When the shipping company got a little confused with delivery, GEK followed up to check whether the kayak had been delivered! They're a great company that takes care of their customers.

I'm torn on how I feel about this company. At times, they've been friendly and helpful, and on the other hand they're kept me waiting weeks for email responses, and many months to correct a situation that still isn't fixed.

I bought a spray skirt that didn't fit my martini kayak. They wouldn't inspect it, until I paid to ship it back to them, so I did. Turns out they knew that there was a factory problem at point 65 for this particular spray skirt.

After months of no update, I asked them to send the faulty one back to me, to have partial coverage out on the water. They did and said they were hoping for March to have the proper ones from the factory.

I just followed up again, and was told "We’ll be going back and forth with Point65 and the factory again, but at this point I encourage you to move on with life and find an aftermarket one".

To pay over $100 for a faulty product and not be offered a reimbursement is wild to me. I don't understand why they didn't refund in the first place and then have me buy another when the proper one comes in. The skirt is still being sold on their website and my review for it no longer shows either.

As someone who gets many questions out on the water about my unique vessel and where I got it, I guess I'll take their customer service advice and "move on with life" and most likely will not recommend the only Canadian supplier of point 65.
