I’ve regularly driven over two hours from Porter’s Lake to paddle with Cape LaHave Adventures, passing other outfitters along the way, because once you’ve experienced the kind of care, quality, and connection that Cape LaHave offers, nothing else quite compares.

This was my second time exploring islands with Cape Lahave and I can’t get enough - top of the line equipment, wonderful guides, exquisite location. An absolute must see on any Nova Scotia trip - the overnights on the islands are an incredible experience. Highly recommend!

Can I give 6 stars? We had SUCH a great morning on the water with Scott. He was so welcoming and so chill, with such a good knowledge of the history of the area. Scott has a way of inspiring confidence, and is very good at tailoring the experience to guests' skill levels for their maximum enjoyment. We have had many good kayaking tours in the past, but Scott and Sarah at Cape LaHave Adventures take it up a notch: their attention to detail is evident in everything, from their excellent website to booking ease to follow-up communications to equipment to route choices. (And may I add: Scott's recommendations for hikes and local food and beverage were spot on!). Such a beautiful location, with perfect weather on our morning paddle, curious seals popping up - I could have stayed out all day...

I took my Level 1 kayaking course in May, and it was an incredible experience. The option to camp on-site was super convenient, with Scotty and Sarah providing full access to the office for cooking and restroom use. Despite heavy rain on the first day, Scotty’s expertise and infectious positivity kept the group energized and made it a fun learning experience. Day 2 was a highlight, as we navigated a thrilling day trip around the islands. I highly recommend taking your kayaking course with Scotty and Sarah for their knowledge, enthusiasm, and top-notch hospitality!

Fantastic group of people running Cape La Have adventures!! I took a basic kayak skills instructor course with them, they are a well oiled machine and are a wealth of knowledge!! It’s clear that Sarah and Scotty take a lot of care in planning and executing their courses, and I have no doubt that any of their other guided paddles or courses would be run just the same. So happy to have done my course with them!!

We had a terrific time on the 3 hour afternoon cruise. The staff were so kind and fun Im ready to write them into my will!
Our guide was charming, knowledgeable and funny.the neoprene suits kept us comfy in our single kayaks. We saw herons and loons, enjoyed the amazing feeling of space and peace that big sky and open water delivers.

Can't think of a better way to spend a day on this beautiful island. This is how you want to see the north Atlantic. Julia was an amazing guide, giving us options throughout depending on stamina, sights, etc. Everyone working there was fun, helpful, knowledgeable, and most importantly, they all clearly loved their work. Had the most wonderful day out kayaking with Gavin! Couldn't ask for more perfect day! As a cherry on the top finished the day with awesome sauna,which is now officially approved by us;The Finnish sauna experts. Löyly was great!!!
