We recently took a Quick Start kayaking course with Aquabatics on the Glenmore Reservoir, and had an absolute blast learning the ropes. Our instructor, Harry, was patient, knowledgeable, and a terrific instructor once we hit the water. I would recommend him to anyone looking to get started.
The provided kayaks and paddles were in great shape, and Harry did a bang up job talking about the benefits and technical details of each brand if you want to learn about the equipment side.

My wife and I loved the intro to river kayaking course for the following reasons:
1. Accountability from instructor Greg, right from the beginning he met our concerns about whether we were registered for the right course or not. And with the logistics that were a challenge due to Covid.
2. Humor and skill from Simon and Greg
3. Finesse from Brandon.
We learned a ton, from wet exit, wet exit in current to eddy turns to seal entry and class II rapids how to know where to go!!!!
We are so excited now to continue our skills on our own and then come back for more.
I was worried I wouldn’t be challenged or advanced.
I was challenged and I have entered (humbly) a new world of kayaking. One of which I have wanted to do for over 3 decades!!!
Btw amazing couples weekend... learning a new set of skills together and facing some fear- it’s a fantastic way to learn about each other and grow together!!
