Remote cozy spa in the mountains. Quite relief if you are looking to get away. I did not have a massage, but the small scale spa was relaxing. Combo thermal pool, wood house sauna and steam sauna complemented by a good temperature cold pool. 2 relaxing areas spread guests out. Robes and towels are awesome for the cold air. Bring a 'tuque' to spa like a local!
If you can spare the time, the restaurant has a great view.

My husband and I just spent 3 wonderful days at the lodge between Christmas and New Years. Although the weather was biter cold, we really enjoyed the outdoor hot tub and the sauna. We were disappointed with the very small size of the room and the very cold floors (we were on the bottom floor) but we booked the last room available and the receptionist told us it was small. The atmosphere, the beautifully decorated Lodge and Dinning Room and especially the meals were incredible!! (well made up for the small room) Our server was amazing and Very helpful! Our meals were delicious!! And we eat a lot of fine dinning. Make a reservation for your meals though, we went back the second night and surprisingly the restaurant had closed and we were unable to enjoy an extra night of the beauty. We were disappointed no dog sledding this time of year but still long to return. Thank You for a very nice stay!

The location is ideal, in the middle of the appalachian mountains and woods. I am sure you can do some great hikes there. But. We were on a tour through Ontario and Quebec and this place was pre booked by our travel agent for two nights. The temperature in the chalets was over 30 Celsius. Beds are basic ( imagine army barack style). Shower is small. Dinner in the main lodge was mediocre. Breakfast was very good. Staff very friendly. Perhaps a good place with friends in winter. We did not stay for the two days, since we had no sleep at all and decided to move on. In all honesty we did not visit the spa, so can not say something about it.

We visited for the 1 hour snowmobiliing excursion. Very enjoyable time. Since this was our first time snowmobiling and we were new to the area - we took the guided tour. Totally worth it. The guide was great and explained keys things about the snowmobile itself and took us on some great straight aways where we could really see the power of the machine. They are 600cc machines - plenty powerful for us beginners. The area/region is absolutely breath-taking. Trails are were well kept and the scenery was amazing. We were short on time otherwise we would have booked a longer tour or checked out the dog-sledding tour - maybe next time 🙂 ||||Note: Call ahead and get directions as your GPS will only take you to a certain point and then tell you to go in circles.

This is the second time I went for a spa weekend with my mother, sister and for the first time her step-daughter and my 8th year old daughter. We went October 2016 and we could not wait to go back late April 2017. I had been to St-Anne spa (nominated the best spa in Ontario) and I find it very similar. The rustic setting with cottages is great for relaxation especially for city people. The bid difference with St-Anne is the price. It is about 1/3 of the price for accommodation and treatments. For me it is cheaper flying with my daughter from Toronto than going to an Ontario spa getaway. At first I was sceptical because being from Toronto things are pricy here. I was not disappointment at all.||The accommodations are wood cottages with shared kitchen and living room. I thought the lack of privacy would be a problem but it is nice to have an area to play cards and eat meals. We occupied two rooms on the second floor where the kitchen, living room and balcony are. These rooms are small but big enough with two double beds and a bathroom. The upper level room is more spacious. The Mountain View from the cottage is amazing.||The food is fantastic and the service impeccable. The menu is small but everything on there is great and these is something for every taste. Quebec food is the best and Appalaches Lodge is an excellent place to experience it. The morning chef makes great omelette and he even came to our table to deliver it and chat with us. The night chef, Karine, is also very friendly and makes amazing food. The gouda cheese and burger appetizers, cod, duck, cannelloni, steak entres are all amazing. I love the homemade salad dressing. The desserts and wine are also very good. The kids were accommodated and they enjoyed their meals. All the food is made there from local suppliers.||The spa is so relaxing. The décor is rustic and very nicely done. They have 2 hot spas and one cold one. The spa has two different steam rooms and rest areas. They burn wood in one of the rest area. The warmth and the smell add to the experience. Everything you need to relax. Between all of us, we had 12 treatments from massages to reflexology. The two girls got wrapped in chocolate and loved it. My sister’s favorite is the hot stone massage. All the therapists are friendly and very good. ||The best of all though is the service. Everyone is so friendly and attentive. Marie-Josee, Karine, Marie-Eve, Lucie, Valerie to name a few have made our stay so enjoyable. Can’t wait to go back.||I highly recommend Appalches Lodge for girlfriend getaway, groups and couples.

We stayed overnight Thursday and Friday last week and had the most relaxing day that is possible. We did not have a check-in desk when we arrived on Thursday night but were able to pickup keys and the only thing that was less than perfect was the cabins are not air conditioned and the Thursday was a 30 plus degree day so the room was very hot when we arrived and needed windows open for a while to get comfortable. waking up Friday morning to find a breakfast that was as good as breakfast can be followed by a great facial an awesome piece of seared cod in a interesting salad for lunch and then an afternoon in the pool and one of the best massages I have had.||||Both of us would highly recommend this small spa getaway that doesn't seem overly busy in summer months and we will probably return in 2 weeks||||Price for the rooms seems high untill you subtract the cost of the dinner and breakfast that were included for us.||||Staff in the resort are super nice ||Rooms are clean but rustic||Facility's are kept in good shape||Basically no complaints

bad experience, unpleasant and unprofessional staff. the bare minimum you expect from a relaxation place like this is to feel stress-free. definitely not the case.
appetizers were good, main course was bad (paella), the package wasn't well explained (i thought i was getting a breakfast included, but instead i received a basket with a cheap continental breakfast). the small room (#41) was nice, bed was comfortable. we didn't have time to try the spa out because we got there in the evening and it closes at 8pm and opens at 10am.
these are obviously all first world problems, but since I wouldn't want anybody to get fooled into staying at that place, I thought I'd mention it 🙂

You have to share the cabin... Kitchen and living room are one big room, though not very large.||One of the spa was dirty (rust coming out of pipes making the water kind of an orange color)||Food was not that good, pretty average.||Be aware, lots of tourists (they come in by bus), so attractions best featured for them.||||Don't expect to have a relaxing really authentic spa experience. It isn't a bad place, just not a realky great one. ||||Water is not drinkable (tap water) and no water bottles provided in the cabins, yet they hand you coffee filters and grakns to brew yourself some.... Thanks anyway...
